La trente-cinquième semaine (35)

Second week of school and things are getting better.

Not going to lie, but Monday was absolute torture, the day seemed to drag on forever. I had a bit of a breakdown during SVT (sciences of the earth) and left to go to the nurses office to calm down. Of course it was completely embarrassing to cry in front of a class of students I barely knew, but everything just got to much – the new school year, study load shock and the teachers not understanding that yes I do understand, just not enough to always be able to participate. Being in an unfamiliar country makes simple things like this get to you a lot more.

There was one good outcome of this, afterwards, when I arrived back in class everyone approached me and for rest of the day I was always in the company of someone. From then on, my week was amazing, I’ve made some great new friends in my new class and loads of kids who I didn’t know before came and ask how I am. Maths is almost enjoyable because I can basically participate in everything, whereas french literature is still a challenge, and I imagine it will continue to be. It was Virginia’s birthday yesterday and this weekend I’ll hopefully be allowed to go to her party!

Everything’s looking up:)
